Eric B. Upin is the Board Chairman of the Washington University Investment Management Company, responsible for overseeing the Washington University Endowment and other financial assets.   He is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Point Olema Capital Partners, a recently-formed San Francisco-based multi-family Investments Office.  Mr. Upin served as the former Chief Investment Officer at the Stanford Management Company (overseeing the Stanford University Endowment) and at Makena Capital Management (an endowment-model asset management firm).  Prior to Stanford, he was a managing director and senior research analyst at the investment banking firm, Robertson Stephens. Mr. Upin served as Interim Chief Investment Officer of the Washington University Endowment in 2017 and also Chaired the CIO Search Committee.  Mr. Upin also serves on the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation Investment Committee and formerly served on the Stephen D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation Investment Committee and on other Family Office Investment Boards.  He received a BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 1983 and MBA from Harvard Business School in 1989.
